Minikomi - Skip For Fun

A new netlabel or something? This guy just put out two of his own tracks on a new netlabel called METRODUB. He plans on filling this page up with cool dub chiptracks, and I for one will be watching it very carefully! Despite the super-sugary name, this track is not overly cheesy or kiddy. It's some seriously good stuff.

This song isn't BRAND NEW anymore, but what would you know, I went through a bunch of new songs today and didn't like any of them a great deal. I was going to feature this one a while back, then I dunno I found some other track, I don't remember which one anymore. This has a really good sound to it, it's pretty pure sounding.

.sylCMYK - Jj

An oddly named song by an oddly named artist: This song (emblematic of the album it's from) has just obscene amounts of high-end noise; It sounds more than crisp, it sounds dangerously electric. Like everything else by these guys, it sounds like they wronged the mid-range frequencies, since the whole mid band has gone missing from this CD. It's a unique sound, and one interesting enough where I think it deserves a spot on my ILLUSTRIOUS SITE.

P.S. He did an awesome remix of Mario music. I can't let myself feature something like that here, but it's in the album ALPHABETSOUP from which this song comes. It's quite a treat.

Anamanaguchi - Mermaid

Because I just couldn't hold it back any longer, this song needs to be on here. Also I'm pretty busy today so I didn't have the time to poke through all the different places I usually look. This song is ridiculously awesome, though. The CD "Dawn Metropolis" was released a little while ago, and you should definitely buy it here!

After all these slower songs, I was very fortunate to have this short but extremely lively C64 track fall into my lap. It's an awesomely energetic track without being another annoying banger... Think running as opposed to jumping up and down.

Okay, so I wouldn't have named this track "All The Candy In The World" myself, because of how relaxing a song it is... Nevertheless, this thick track displays an excellent amount of creativity, and Mahamajama shows that he's got a good ear for harmonies and progressions.

Swampyboy - Mushroom Waltz

You know when you're listening to a song and you think you know where the beat is, then a beat comes in and its placement is better than where you figured it had been? I think it's some kind of aural phenomenon and has a proper name, but I don't know it. Like Daft Punk's "Veridis Quo", for example. Well, it's a really cool sensation and swampyboy pulls it off with finesse. He recently put out a record, (him vs. some "Capslock Down" fella who, I find after a quick dash about the internet, happens to be his brother of all things!) and I don't think this track is on it. No, no it's not.

Heinz91 is a guy from 8bc that has three songs out. As of April 21, 2009 this song is a "WIP" according to him, so if he ends up changing it I'll reflect that change on this site. The song in one sentence: Some hissy "real" drums with a cool funky lead; it sounds great!
