This is the style of music that people in England dance to (fact: it's not like American club music). I'd dare say they know what's good, more so than the places that are continuously blaring "Poker Face" and... Kanye West or whatever. But maybe that's 'cuz I'm some Anglo-Saxon dude and this is the music of my people.

not everybody in 'Merica plays 'poker face' on repeat, bub. Plenty of us know dub and listen to it/raggae/dNb.

Yeah, I guess what I was trying to say wasn't that Americans are completely oblivious to the existence of dub, it's just that in my experience venues/clubs/restaurants/bars/etc. stick to the Billboard Hot Hundred when making their playlists. I'm sure the variety is up a few notches in more densely populated areas (I'm from Grand Rapids, MI: population ~200,000, so I'm talking upwards of there) where a niche audience is still profitable, but in middle America such genres are hard to come by unless you're in charge of the music personally. Way too many words for all I was trying to say!
ReplyDeleteKk. I was just checking your statement. I get all sorts of riled up when 'my peoples' get put in a lil box. (^__-)
ReplyDeletethat being said, it was a good 8bc track.
